Gunrunner 'San Diego'

The prototype corvette San Diego was stolen from its drydock in the early 39th century by the notorious Parakeet syndicate and used for illicit transport of restricted goods. The investigation, which spanned eight years and resulted in the downfall of the Parakeets, was made famous as the Montrose Case.

Elements of San Diego's design, such as the field vectoring "feathers", were surprisingly ahead of their time, making their way into commercial spaceflight in the post-War boom of the 45th and 46th centuries.
